Terry Oleksow, RMT MTAA

      Terry is the owner and founder of Massageworks. He began practicing massage in Calgary in 1986 and immediately became involved with the Alberta Sports Massage Team working with athletes preparing for the 88 Calgary Winter Olympics. He was also part of the training team for Team Canada's Hockey team from 1988 to 1991. Terry is a 20+ year member of the Massage Therapists Association of Alberta and has served on the Board of Directors as well as headed several Committees. During his time on the MTAA board, the association joined the other members of the CMTA in adopting a 2200 hour training standard for all  the member provincial associations. He helped organize upgrading courses for members to increase their hours of training over a 4 year period, while being able to continue working in their profession.

      Terry's experience and continuing training has helped him develop a muscle specific approach to deep tissue therapy. He integrates Myofascial Release techniques with a uniquie approach to Trigger Point therapy as well as PNF stretching. Each treatment is specifically focused to address the needs of the individual.
       Terry enjoys spending time biking and hiking in the mountains with his family and friends. He and his wife Debra also have a passion for the ocean and have spent many summers exploring the Pacific Northwest.

      With 2200hrs on the way to becoming Canada’s recognized standard for massage therapists, Leanne completed an accredited 2200hr Massage Therapy Diploma program from ICT Northumberland College in Halifax, NS, graduating in July 2001. 

      Working professionally as a Registered Massage Therapist for over 17yrs, utilizing an approach that combines both Orthopedic and Myofascial assessment & treatment protocols, Leanne is passionate about the health of her patients. She offers results oriented massage therapy sessions to reach the goals that they have set within their treatment plan, enabling them to live their lives to the fullest, with minimal pain or discomfort and little or no medication.

Massage can also assist with: increasing vitality, energy levels, decreasing the effects of stress on the body and increase ones sense of well-being, improve sleep and promote healthy circulation to flush out toxins from the body, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, improving tissue health.    

Leanne is also trained in: 

Clinical Breast Massage: to assist with healing post surgical procedures - such as removal of tumors or cysts, mastectomies, as well as post breast reductions; the focus being to speed healing by assisting with drainage and minimizing adhesion formation that could affect range of motion and/or elicit pain.

Intra-oral Massage: to assist with releasing muscles of the jaw, on the interior aspect of the mouth,to assist with TMJ dysfunction and pain. Sometimes it is the muscles of the jaw at the heart of headaches, dental pain, neck tension and other common complaints.
